Hello!  My name is Lisa Denning.  I started this blog as a way to express my love and passion for food and the wine and spirits which I believe are an essential ingredient on every dining table.  

Way back when, I was a Bates College graduate living the life in NYC.  I had several jobs in the business world, mostly in publishing.  I finally landed a great job in advertising sales at the New York Times.  But each week I would find myself sitting at my desk, reading and clipping the recipes from the food section.  I would call my best friend and say, "Did you see such and such recipe?  Doesn't that look so good?!"  I felt more excited about those recipes than I did about the ad space I was selling.  

The funny thing is, I didn't know how to cook!  I decided that my calling was food and cooking, not selling advertising space, so I quit my job and started a full time program at the French Culinary Institute (now the International Culinary Center).  After graduating, I worked at some of New York City's top restaurants. I also delved into catering, food styling and recipe development for magazines.  

My love of well-crafted food naturally spilled over into a passion for wine and spirits and in 2012 I began working as a sales associate at Sherry-Lehmann in NYC.  While there, I had the opportunity to taste some amazing wine and spirits  and meet the people who make and market them. I also started to write this blog as a way to share my passion.  Currently I am a sales associate at Grape Collective on the Upper West Side and write for their online magazine.
